Sciath na Scol

November 22, 2022

In our Sciath na Scol journey we’ve had our ups and downs. We started off with some training sessions led by Ms Burns and Ms McCarthy. We had fun carpooling to the different matches singing songs and lifting each others spirits. Losing our first match against Eglantine was tough. However, winning our next match against St Columba’s helped to lift our spirits. We also went on to win against St Patrick’s and Spioraid Naoimh in our group. This meant that we got through to the semi final against Scoil Chlochair Mhuire Carrigtwohill. We travelled to this semi-final on a bus together and brought along a few supporters from sixth class. We also had lots of parents supporting us at all of our matches. Unfortunately we lost this match but gave it our all from start to finish. I hope next years Sciath na Scol will have as much fun as we did.

Volcanoes

Volcanoes

Rang a haon had so much fun learning all about volcanoes. They researched the names of volcanoes and learned a little about them, labelled diagrams, created fabulous explanation writing pieces and wrote up a science experiment, which they put all together in volcano shaped booklets they made themselves. In art they used plaster and paint to make their own volcanoes and carried out a science experiment to make that volcano explode. What a blast we had!
