Orienteering

September 28, 2022

On the 20th of September we walked down to the Japanese Gardens to go orienteering. We were all bubbling with excitement.

When we arrived we met the lovely Seán Cotter (from Bishopstown Orienteering Club) who told us everything we needed to know about orienteering.

We split into groups of two or three and we had to follow a map to navigate ourselves to the landmarks we were looking for. There was lots of running and map-reading involved. We had so much fun!

By the end of it we were all exhausted. We thanked Seán and walked back to school. We were all eager to find out our times but not so eager to get back to maths!

We all loved orienteering together and we made wonderful memories too! We had a great time.

Volcanoes

Volcanoes

Rang a haon had so much fun learning all about volcanoes. They researched the names of volcanoes and learned a little about them, labelled diagrams, created fabulous explanation writing pieces and wrote up a science experiment, which they put all together in volcano shaped booklets they made themselves. In art they used plaster and paint to make their own volcanoes and carried out a science experiment to make that volcano explode. What a blast we had!
