I am honoured to bear the title of principal of Our Lady of Lourdes N.S.
Our school is the oldest primary school in Ballinlough parish, having been founded in 1943. It has a long tradition of providing a caring, nurturing environment for all of its students, as well as striving for academic excellence and encouraging all students to give of their best in realising their strengths and reaching their potential.
Our Lady of Lourdes has a longstanding tradition of choral excellence and we are pleased to include Mary Hegarty, the renowned Cork Soprano and Eleanor Malone, the well known accompanist among our past pupils.
When I was appointed principal, I had spent the previous thirty years as a classroom teacher in this school. This experience means that I have an in-depth knowledge of the school and hope that this knowledge, together with the support of the pupils, parents and a dedicated committed staff will help me to maintain and further enhance the good reputation of Our Lady of Lourdes N.S. as a centre of excellence which promotes and encourages the all-round development of its pupils.
